A couple of years ago, we started noticing cormo and colored cormo cross fleeces at wool shows. They
were consistently luxurious, soft and beautiful!! We simply couldn't resist. Last fall, two cormos joined
our flock. Twin ram lambs were born this spring. Four beautiful colored cormo crosses and two more
purebred cormo ewes joined our flock in 2011.

The Cormo breed originated in Australia as a result of crossing superfine merinos ewes to Corriedale rams. Original
selections were strict and used specific measurable criteria such as fiber weight, fiber diameter, fiber diameter
consistency, and body weight. This method produced sound animals with outstanding fleeces repeatedly.

A typical cormo fleece weighs 9-12 pounds (before skirting), has a staple length of 3.5-5.5 inches, and a fiber diameter of
17-23 microns. Its crimp is fine, even and well defined Cormo wool has excellent felting qualities.
It takes up dye beautifully and has luster.
