Lilac Ridge Farm's breeding objectives include selecting for healthy animals whose fleeces  best describe their breed character.  Fineness, crimp, staple length, uniformity, yield,  general feel and appearance are all considered.  In addition, our goal is to breed for a variety of colors while maintaing high fleece quality.   In order to provide the best fleeces to our customers, our sheep are coated year round and each fleece is skirted heavily.

Lilac Ridge Farm implements selection, nutrition, and care practices that respect the environment and minimize the need for antibiotics, dewormers, and chemcials.  We are in the process of improving 23 acres of pasture and will engage in a full rotational grazing plan beginning 2012.
